quick update- been doing some artwork, also some commission work. Though I am still in the middle of finishing up the last of my college work, but I'll be back in the game in no time
anyway, my point-
In the past couple of months, I find friends of mine getting attacked on their galleries and artwork; from direct commenting to having their artwork being flagged for inappropriate without any statements or arguments. The artists don't even get to defend themselves in the matter of having their artwork taken down, and I don't even think there's a staff of people who really look into these things. I mean there are lots of terrible and tasteless executions of art here on DA that stand strong with the community, while good artists have to deal with all the jerk-off attacks.
I think it's official to say that DeviantART has now become hunting grounds for trolls.
I strongly believe in Democracy, the right to vote
(which also applies for republicans, if you want to argue politics), but DA isn't democratically functioning, it's just some big seats who run a sight and don't want to deal with any of it. So what do they do instead of taking charge and running this sight, they let the users make all the decisions. Fact: people aren't naturally smart, it takes education, rational thinking, if not thinking in general, to have patients and understanding. What the lazy and anti-socials understand is rage and envy, so they fester in selfish thinking to compensate for interaction; which makes them easily turn to bad reviews and negative powers, which is what spawns trolling.
whatever their cause is, this kind of decision shouldn't be allowed to just anybody; even I believe I shouldn't be allowed to have this power. This is so easy, I could just flag any artist here on DA- here's an example, what if I really didn't like

Genzoman's artwork (I'm only picking a popular artist from the top of my head), all I had to do was flag him and the process will do the rest to destroy him. question 1: what reasons do I have to flag him? just that I hate him, is that a reasonable answer; one person hates a guy so therefor they can't exists? #2: What did the artist do to get himself banned? posting artwork? that's all he did, but that's more than enough to get his account closed. and question #3: do you get my point?
so I can clear up the last paragraph, granted I don't think much of Genzoman's artwork, but he's a pretty good artist. but that sets up another example: I believe that I am merely one person out of an infinity and just because I have an opinion shouldn't stop his progress or that my existence should shake his (this is kind of one of my "down with the censors" moments)
I think the lazy site supervisors should really do is take away this power from the simple users and get off their asses to manage the website themselves. If they want to be "creative", they could just make a voting system for all the followers and watchers to decide if the art and/or the user get's banned; but of course knowing this is DeviantART, only the Premium members get to be voted. all the other artists have to suck it.
If all this trolling and garbage keeps going, I might also leave DeviantART; which is sad since I quit doing activity on another site that has been very kind to me in the past. I honestly do as good, if not better, on social sites like Tumblr and Facebook, and there the only people who have to care are the ones who choose to. I rather just have people who like my art, appreciate me, and people I appreciate for their art, character, and virtues.
I was hoping DeviantART was one of those sites that could connect the artists, but all it is in the end is another Youtube: people getting attacked for existing , hard to difficult interactions with other people, and only the privilege get anywhere here

Well on a lighter note, I am almost done with college; just finishing up my last class and poof, I'll immediatly get back to my last commission, open them up (if anyone is interested), and I will also start developing my portfolio and projects; going to see if I can apply as storyboard artist at an animation studio in California. And if time is good, I'll be publishing a comic strip half way through the summer.
also, I visited a new Microsoft store in Salt Lake today and discovered the tablet-computer of my dreams: the Windows Surface Pro
I drew a puppy on it-
